What is Social Accountability SA 8000?

The new standard has been developed under the auspices of the USA's Council on Economic Priorities Accreditation Agency (CEPAA). It is the first 'auditable' international standard to cover working practices and is based on Conventions of the International Labour Organization, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
